A conservation group has made a deal with DOC to kill of as many possums as possible if they'll stop dropping 1080. 

If the 100% Pure Taranaki Society can bring rat numbers down by 40 per cent and possums down by 18 per cent in the Kaitake Ranges the department will consider not doing an aerial pest control operation in that area in another three years.
